Adoption Information

Thank you so very much for considering a homeless pet to adopt.  Please keep in mind that researching the breed or mix of breeds is THE most important step in adopting a pet.  In order to blend a pet in with the family your lifestyle must be considered.  Your energy level and their expected energy level at adulthood should be similar.  Please, remember that with proper medical attention, good nutrition, and lots of love, your new pet (if adopted young) could be with you 10-20 years.  Ask yourself, "Am I willing to make this commitment"?  If your answer is yes, please continue.

Here at SOS we try very hard to make a good match the first go around.  It is very unsettling for the pet to go from home to home.   We have to be sure that we are giving this pet the best chance at a permanent home.  Listed below are some of our requirements for adoption:

1.  Any pets you already own must be spayed or neutered.

 

2.  If adopting a dog, you must have a securely fenced yard with locked gates.

 

3.  You must consent to a home visit with all family members present, including pets.

 

4.  You must allow us to obtain a reference from any veterinarians you have used.

 

5.  You must be at least 21 years of age.
